Sprint Review 50

Two-column Site Page layout, home page deletion protection, CTA Card borders, and more.

Author: Digital Solutions

We're always taking care of routine back-end housekeeping, but we've also whipped up some new features we think you'll be excited about.

New this Sprint

  • Light colored CTA Cards now have a 1px border in the accent color of your website.
  • Home Page Deletion Protection: It doesn't happen often, but you can imagine that when it does, it's a big deal. We've installed a module to prevent users from accidentally deleting the website homepage. If you do intentionally need to replace your home page, first identify the new page as the new Home Page before deleting the old one.

Two-Column Layout on Site Pages

Site Pages now function more like Landing Pages and can contain more than one column of content. When creating a new Site Page, you must insert a Band before inserting new Paragraph Components. You may choose either a one-column or a two-column Band. The layout you select determines which content Components you may insert. Some Components require more width and will not look good or work well in a narrower column. The table below indicates which Components can and cannot be used in a two-column layout.

On this Page Jump Links

We're making it simpler for you to make pages that are easy to navigate! Perfect for long, text-heavy pages, this new feature automatically creates anchors and creates jump links to them from a new menu at the top of any Site Page. All you have to do is enable the feature with a simple checkbox located beneath the Page Content area. Then, any text that you have styled as Heading 2 will automatically be included in the "On this Page" menu.

On this page jump links and the headings to which they jump upon selection are highlighted.
Example: A Site Page containing Heading Level 2 text that has been added to the "On This Page" menu. Note that other heading levels, such as the H3 heading pictured, are not added to the menu.

Main Video for Blogs & Press Releases

A YouTube or Vimeo video URL can display a video on your Blog or Press Release in place of the Main Image. You should provide a Title for the video for digital accessibility, even though it does not appear on the page. Note that the Main Video covers the Main Image on the Blog Entry, but not in the Grid Blog View; for this reason, you will want to include both an image and a video to avoid empty space in the view. You can also insert addition Video Cards that appear at the bottom of the Blog Entry or Press Release.
