About Digital Commons

Since its launch in 2015, the North Carolina Department of Information Technology (NCDIT) Digital Commons platform has provided a unified approach that empowers state government agencies to deliver services, resources, and information efficiently to key audiences. The NCDIT Digital Solutions team has managed and enhanced the platform from the beginning.

Beyond offering a standardized look and feel, the Digital Commons platform incorporates best practices in website management, empowering communicators and subject matter experts to take control of their content. The team fosters collaboration and encourages the use of analytics, user surveys, and other user-centered approaches to meet the needs of end-users.

A significant upgrade in 2022 introduced further improvements, enhancing accessibility, security, and user-friendliness across all devices. With its modern, responsive design built on Bootstrap 5, the platform ensures websites are easily accessible and automatically optimized for any device, all without requiring web coding skills.
