Two new features were added to the Digital Commons platform. In an effort to continually improve and innovate, we have introduced an <iframe> embed component and a language selection option.
iFrame Embed
The new <iframe> componenet, currently available for Site Pages and soon to be included on all Landing Pages, allows users to easily embed external content by copying and pasting an embed code directly into the component. Whether you're looking to showcase PowerBI dashboards, maps or other interactive elements, this feature makes it easier to enhance your content without coding.
The <iframe> embed element offers several advantages:
- Enhanced Content: Content providers can enrich their pages with multimedia elements, making the content more engaging and visually appealing.
- User Friendly: With just a few clicks content providers can embed content from various platforms, streamlining the process of adding diverse media.
- Flexibility: This feature supports a wide range of external resources giving users the freedom to customize their pages according to their needs.
With the <iframe> embed feature you can now transform your text editor into a powerful content createion tool that not only informs but also captivates your audience. Content providers must add a title attribute inside the <iframe> element to make it accessible and it is automatically responsive.
Language Selection
The language selection in CK Editor makes it easy to translate content into different languages. This “Choose Language” select option wraps a language attribute around content in the specified language, other than English, which lets screen readers know how to pronounce the content.
The "Styles" drop-down next to it has a few purposes:
- Paragraph: Don’t Translate - should be used as a block level element to wrap around entire paragraphs that should not translate to a different language when a user selects a language under GTranslate.
- Word(s): Don’t Translate - provides the same behavior as above but it is an inline element and used only on a few word(s) not an entire paragraph.
- Table styles - force the chosen width to the table.
Give these new features a try and let us know how you like them!
