New Features
Landing Page Save as Draft
Landing Pages now have the same moderation workflow as Site Pages: Draft, Needs Review, Published, or Unpublished. Now you can make edits to a published Landing Page and save it as Draft, to keep working later. The published version stays public and the Draft is hidden from site visitors. Thanks to Kelly Gardner for this SPARK request in the Digital Commons Content Ninjas team!
JSON File Upload for Large Data Tables
JSON, or JavaScript Object Notation, is a lightweight, text-based format for storing and exchanging data. It is human-readable and easy for machines to parse, making it an ideal format for transmitting data between a server and a web application, often used in APIs.
A view created from a JSON file is a good solution when you have too much data for a regular table, and/or you need to be able to filter the results the way a view does (tables only have Search).
This is a very specific feature that requires several steps to use:
- enabling the file upload on the site,
- assigning the “DC Submissions Viewer” role to the user who will upload,
- creating a correctly formatted JSON file, and
- working with Dawain Faison to create the view that will be populated.
Updates & Fixes
Tables within a Text Component
The user controls to change the number of entries and search were not constrained to match the width of tables within a Text Component and changing the table style to the Narrow Table: 770 px option did not change anything about the display. This has been fixed so that now the entries per page dropdown aligns with the left edge of the table and the Search field aligns with the right edge.
Change Headings on the Callout Component
The Callout heading was automatically set to H2 and could not be changed by the content creator. This became an issue when placed on a Site Page using the On this Page Menu; Callouts were automatically added to the On this Page Menu but could not be removed, if desired. Now you can select H2 through H5, as is appropriate for its position on the page. It defaults to H3.
Webform Fixes
- Alignment - On Webforms that collect an individual's name and title/prefix, such as Mr., Ms., or Dr., the drop-down box for the title/prefix sat lower than the field for the first name. This has been fixed.
- Missing Icons - Icons were not displaying on Custom Composites. For instance, the Basic Training registration Webform asks for URLs of the websites the learner will work on. One URL field is provided, but the user may add up to 2 more. The plus (+) and minus (-) icons for adding or removing extra URLs were not displaying. Also, the number of items being added was not displaying. This has been fixed.
- Duplicate Webform Dialogue - When duplicating a Webform, the dialogue box was appearing behind the heading for the table of available webforms instead of in front of it. This has been corrected.
